A modern company
Reka is a non-profit organisation that has evolved to become a modern company. Thanks to its credibility and reliability, Reka has gained the public's confidence, making it one of Switzerland's leading tourism organisations. The 500 or so members – employers, employee associations, tourism and transport companies, Coop and others – support Reka's social idea by foregoing interest payments on their share in the cooperative.
Guarantee social commitment through growth and innovation
As a non-profit organisation, Reka aims to further strengthen itself through innovation and healthy growth. Reka keeps pace with changing market needs by creating new and attractive services. Its goal is to enable as many families as possible in Switzerland to enjoy holidays and make the most of their leisure time.
Market leader in the family segment
Quality assurance, attractive offerings and a strong family focus support Reka's strategic goal of becoming market leader in the family segment.
Driving force for Swiss Tourism
By issuing Reka payment instruments, Reka supports the domestic tourism and transport sectors while enabling people to set money aside for holidays, leisure and travel.
The discounts offered by the issuers (over CHF 90 million a year) and Reka (around CHF 8 million) generate annual revenue from Reka payment instruments of over CHF 600 million. Reka money is thus an important driver in the Swiss tourism sector.
One million overnight stays in Switzerland
Reka boasts over one million overnight stays in its holiday apartments and Reka holiday villages in Switzerland, making it a key player in the Swiss tourism industry – above all in mountainous regions.
Cooperation agreements reinforce the "Reka" brand
As a classic SME, Reka is under market pressure to enter into cooperation agreements and segment-specific partnerships (for example with Coop, Manor, SBB, Swiss Tourism, VöV (Swiss Transport Association) and SBS (Swiss Cableways Association)) in order to strengthen its position and popularise its products.
Special benefits
Issuers receive Reka money from Reka with a basic discount of 1.5%. Reka francs are therefore cheaper than cash. The issuers pass on Reka payment instruments to users, with a further discount of around 17%. This discount is exempt from tax and social-contribution costs.
Reka holiday apartments are rented out directly, making them cheaper than similar offerings. They can also be paid for using discounted Reka francs. Families on a tight budget benefit from Reka holiday assistance, which allows them to book free holidays.
Company philosophy
Reka francs are in keeping with the basic idea of giving and taking – by all parties involved – issuers, users and acceptance partners alike. All parties contribute and draw benefits at the same time. Ultimate beneficiaries are also the disadvantaged members of our society, to whom Reka passes on its earnings in the form of social holiday assistance.
