Reka holiday villages are not situated in strong economic locations so are of great importance to the development of the regions.
80,000 overnight stays – in Hasliberg, for example, in 2007 – means additional spending by guests of over CHF 4 million. Among those that benefit are the mountain railways, the ski schools, the Postautos, retail and commerce.
Sustainability for Reka means treating nature with respect and searching for forward-looking supply and waste-disposal solutions. In Hasliberg a solar plant has been installed for the provision of hot water and the Reka holiday villages in Disentis and Urnäsch are the biggest holiday resorts in Switzerland to be built to the "Minergie" energy standard. Waste separation is also part of the Reka standard. In the mobility area, Reka supports public transport (for example, by making contributions to local bus operators) and optimises the service chain by entering into cooperation agreements (parcel service).
With its Fewo initiative, Reka with the support of seco and Swiss Tourism, contributed to sustained improvements in the Swiss holiday apartment sector in the area of marketing and management. e-Marketplace, a pioneering European achievement, features the leading holiday apartment providers in Switzerland on a single Internet portal, greatly simplifying the booking of holiday apartments for guests.
Reka's own facilities are modernised and adapted to changing needs on a continuous basis. This way they can continue to offer value for money and remain a good advertisement for family holidays in Switzerland while also contributing to the building of a positive image.
